Do you have to pay for parking at Crandon Park? ›

Crandon Park sits on Key Biscayne, across the William M. Powell Bridge and the Bear Cut Bridge. Public transportation is an option to get to the park, while travelers who choose to drive must pay a parking fee of $5 on weekdays and $7 on weekends.

Crandon Park was a donation, made to the County, in 1940 by heirs of Commodore William John Matheson, a wealthy aniline dye businessman who used the land as a coconut plantation, with the condition that the land be used as a public park.

Facilities. The park is more than 800 acres (320 ha) in size, and has 2 miles (3.2 km) of beach on the Atlantic Ocean side. Crandon Boulevard extends from the end of the Rickenbacker Causeway through the length of the park, providing access to the Village of Key Biscayne and Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.

We had a wonderful day at the park. Beautiful beach, perfect weather, plenty of palm trees for shade. Everything was perfect. Alcohol permitted but no glass bottles or containers.
