Have you ever wanted to play through a Pokemon game as an actual pokemon? Do you ever wish you could restart a game without losing all of your save data? Maybe you’ve always wanted to randomize the pokemon you encounter. All of these options, and so many more, are possible with our amazing Pokemon Soul Silver cheats.

How to Activate Action Replay Codes

Before you can start changing your game to your heart’s content, you’ll need to know how to actually use the codes we’re supplying for you. These aren’t your dad’s cheats where you can just press a string of buttons to get a result – you’ll have to put in a little bit of work.

To use these cheat codes, you’ll need to input them as Action Replay codes on your emulator or physical device.

Since most gamers are revisiting older Pokemon games through the help of emulators, the process is actually very easy. Almost every emulator comes with built-in cheat software so you don’t have to go digging around on eBay for an Action Replay.

With that taken care of, here’s the actual process in a quick step-by-step guide:

  1. Open Emulator
  2. Run Pokemon Soul Silver
  3. Select ‘Setup Cheat Codes’ in the system settings
  4. Create a ‘New Category’ (We like to group ours with the headings you’ll find below)
  5. With the category selected, create a ‘New AR Code’
  6. Copy one of the codes from our list into the text box that appears on the right
  7. Make sure that the codes you want to use are checked
  8. Make sure cheat codes are enabled, which is a separate setting

Some codes may have other specific requirements, like pressing L and R at the same time. These are done from within the game, not in the settings menu.

And there you have it! Now just pick a cheat from the list below and you’re off to the races with your completely customized Soul Silver experience.

Pokemon Soul Silver Cheat Codes

Below is our complete list of Soul Silver cheat codes. With these, you’ll be able to turn this classic game into whatever you want, whether that’s a super hack speedrun of the game, a fully randomized nuzlocke, or just a fun playthrough with the starter pokemon of your choosing.

Item Cheats

This is our most straightforward section. The codes here put items straight into your inventory. They’re ordered in the same way that the sections of your bag are, with the exception of mail (who needs it) and key items (which can be literally game-breaking if cheated in).

To activate any of these cheats, or all at the same time if they’re all enabled, simply press L R and then go to your bag to see the results.

Wild Pokemon Cheats

All Pokemon Soul Silver Cheats: Revolutionize Your Game! (3)

These cheat codes might be some of the most important, as they impact the core mechanic of the game: catching pokemon.

Shiny Pokemon Code

This cheat will guarantee that every wild pokemon you encounter is shiny. Does it ruin the excitement of finding a shiny pokémon? Maybe. Is having a team full of shiny pokemon still amazing? Heck yeah, it is.

No Wild Encounters Code

Repels always run out too fast. With this code, you’ll never have to worry about being swarmed by Zubats in Rock Tunnel ever again. Just turn on this code and you won’t have any wild encounters to deal with.

Random Encounters Code

Randomized nuzlocke runs are all the rage, and why not? There’s so much excitement to be had in not knowing what pokemon you’re about to run into at any given time.

With this code enabled, every wild encounter can be any pokemon from Gens 1-4.

Remove All Badges Code

This code does the exact opposite, allowing you to go back to the beginning and take on all the gym leaders as if it was your first time playing through the game. It’s a great way to train up new teams, test new strategies, or simply pummel a gym leader that gave you a hard time.

To activate this code, press Select and Down at the same time.

Walk Through Walls Cheat Code

This classic pokemon cheat code allows you to move out of the game’s normal bounds so you can run straight from New Bark Town all the way to Palette Town before you’ve even received your first pokemon.

Be warned, this is the most likely code to cause a glitch, so be sure to save your game before using it. If things start to act weird but the game hasn’t totally stopped, just find a door to walk through and the game should load any missing assets.

To activate this code, press R and B at the same time.

Change Character Sprite Code

All Pokemon Soul Silver Cheats: Revolutionize Your Game! (4)

We’ve saved the best for last. This amazing code allows you to change your overworld sprites and play as a completely different character. Instead of running around as the normal hero of the Johto games, you can transform yourself into just about any other sprite in the game, including gym leaders and pokemon!

This code doesn’t change your in-battle sprite, but that’s fine since the character is only shown for a brief moment.

To use this code, you’ll just need to replace XXX with the listed character code.
